Field Studies Ireland are a not-for-profit, social enterprise, specialising in Outdoor Education
We exist to empower you to use the outdoors for education, development and wellbeing.
We offer a range of programmes and courses for all abilities.
Where are you based?
Our HQ is at Tollymore in County Down, but we travel all over the Island of Ireland to support schools, organisations, councils and more
What is Outdoor Education?
Outdoor Education can be an overarching term that encompasses things like Field Studies, Forest Schools, Outdoor Learning and Environmental Education.
We define Outdoor Education as ‘using the outdoors as a stimulating resource for education, development, and wellbeing’.
How do you book a course?
Most of our training and programmes are delivered directly to specific groups and organisations. We find this is a nice way to meet the individual needs of each group through bespoke courses.
We also offer a series of ‘open courses’ for individuals throughout the year in areas such as biodiversity, outdoor teaching, and nature skills. Check out our Events Page for details
Who is responsible for transport?
Most of our courses and experiences take place on foot, therefore we just ask that you find your own way to us, and we will do the rest.
